The unit is pretty good and sturdy. It has some unnecessary bells and whistles like lights and timers and one major flaw. The tip of the metal board has a squared off tip with corners that prevent smooth shoulder ironing and threaten to poke indentations into delicate knits. I called customer service, and they suggested I use a sleeve board. The whole point of a foldaway board is to reduce clutter in a small space! Even my old $14.99 basic ironing board had a gently rounded tip. I've spent much time and energy trying to pad the end of the board without defeating the convenience of a foldaway board. There is room for a rounded tip in the case. The square tip does not show up well in online photos of the product.
