Milwaukee Tool M-Spector 360 9ft. Kit 2314-21 Review

I'm generally a fan of Milwaukee tools, and the "M-Spector" didn't disappoint. It's well-made, looks like it will last a long time, and generally just feels comfortable in my hands. Milwaukee supports it with a five year warranty, and it even comes with the trademark red hard plastic case you usually see from this brand.

The display is better than many of the lower cost units I've seen. The rotating display is a nice feature as it's difficult to keep the probe oriented as you feed it through twisty passages. Some units have quarter VGA resolution sensors (160x120 or so), but the M-Spector has a full 640x480 (yet the display itself seems to handle less than this, according to the specs). It comes with an M12 Lithium battery - if you have other Milwaukee tools that use this size battery, it can be shared. I get about an hour of operation per charge, so two batteries gives constant operation - one in the device, one in the charger.

The probe end is about .35" in diameter and fits comfortably in any half-inch opening. Try an opening much smaller than that and the probe tends to bind and be difficult to control. The probe has four white LED lights surrounding the lens to provide lighting for whatever dark space you choose to explore. The 9 foot cable is a plus, giving you more distance than you're likely to use.

There's a balance between image quality, glare/reflections and distance...the M-Spector gives you a fairly glare-free image and lights objects up to about a foot away from the probe in total darkness. The probe also accepts a hook, mirror, or magnet, so you can manipulate objects with the probe, not just stare at them.

The only controls on the device are a power button and contrast/brightness, so it's drop-dead easy to use. One feature lacking is an external video feed or memory stick of some type for recording what you're looking at. Some of the competing products offer these capabilities, and if the M-Spector had it, it would be a five-star product in my book.

Otherwise, this is a fine product and worth a look.

Pelpro Pellet Stove - 50,000 BTU, Model# HHPP2BDD-M Review

I would let everyone know how well this works, but the problem is that it isn't working at all. The auger motor doesn't spin and so the pellets do not dispense, therefore the fire does not stay lit. It is also confusing because if you want it to be in "manual" mode, then you have to hold the power button until certain lights flash and only those lights and there are about four modes. If you have the manual you can figure it out, but if not then you're out of luck. What's wrong with just having a "manual" button? The process of getting a replacement motor is a joke. The customer service people are not very friendly and talk to you like you are in idiot. If I didn't have a handy son-in-law then I would be paying for this to be fixed out of my own pocket as they only send the replacement part and then you are on your own. I paid a lot of money for a pellet stove that I haven't even been able to use yet. If I get the replacement motor anytime soon then I will update my review to inform on the heat output.

CST/berger 55-SLVP24ND 24X Automatic Optical Level Kit with Tripod, Rod, and Carrying Case Review

Well what can I say about this very well made tool.

Were adding on to our cabinet shop and this was one tool we needed. We combined this SAL24X ND with our Spectra Physics L130 Cone auto level laser and a brand new Stabila dot/line laser. All 3 have tribrachs.

Our purchase was for only the 24X not the rod since we had an aluminum 16ft rod and a brand new CST/Berger tripod any way.

Setting up this is very easy and straight forward. Calibration took very little time and is recommended before you start your layout.

In this price range and for small construction jobs including a shop or even a home this level will work very well.

The 24X is fine for just about any small to medium job size. You can spend more money than you need to on these levels. CST/BERGER can save you time and money with the 55-SLVP24ND 24X Auto Level Kit

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have returned from a long journey. A journey wherein I faced many difficult decisions about which toilet to buy. The bathroom should be a sanctuary from all outside issues--it is a place where the past and future should not impede, a place where one can become centered and focus. The tome of my knowledge is here for you. The three criteria in my search were:

1. Price
2. Flushability
3. Comfort

For price, this toilet was right there with the rest of the toilets, pretty much. A bit more expensive than a lot of toilets, but not as expensive as some of the others I saw. I wanted to buy a toilet and not worry about it, so I was willing to pay a little bit more.

Flushability is also of major import--you do not want to flush twice. The Highline Classic has some kind of "Class 5 Flushing Technology" and someone told me you could flush a bucket of golf balls down it. I did not test this but I was concerned about flush power. Allegedly (at least at Home Depot) this toilet has a flush rating of "10" on a scale from 1 to 10. No problems.

Lastly, let's look at comfort, by far the most important. Getting the obvious out of the way (who doesn't buy oblong seats?), comfort is a matter of seat height. In sitting down and getting up, the higher the seat height, the easier it is on your body. Initially I was going to buy a toilet seat with a 19" seat height, but looking at the average height of humans, women (of 5'4" average seat height) find 19" to be uncomfortable--legs dangle and fall asleep! But at 16-1/2" seat height, a 5'4" person's feet still touch the ground and comfort is there. Eureka!
