Order this to replace my 1/2 HP chain drive garage door opener which made my life miserable with its loud noise and yanking the door when opening. After doing some search on the Best, Quiet, Affordable and Great Customer Support, and did I mention Durable...I went and order this Sommer 1 HP garage door opener. Arrived in 5 days from placing the order...you can order it from somewhere else...but I trust Amazon as their return and shipping tracking systems are great. Long story short...When Arrived the box looked in a perfect with no ding, or damage to the box.
I wanted to installed myself- But due to family i decided to email Sommer to find out if there are any contractor they recommend to install their product at my location in Texas. They immediately reply back with the contractor name and phone number...Made a call to contractor and for 90bucks he came and did the installation in 2 hour. After the installation I was very SHOCKED to see that this Sommer Garage Door made any noise when opening or closing...I mean EXTREMELY Quiet Operation. There is a very very minor motor noise...but you have to be close to hear it other than that no noise and extremely quiet. I recommend this to folks who have 2 story house with garage on the bottom of your bedroom and or your living space.
