This is the first mixer I have purchased and I've had it about three months now. The parts are solid and I had no difficulty with assembly. The packaging was not very sturdy and some parts were loose but I received everything.

The angle of the tub is such that I found mixing occurs much better if the angle from the ground is decreased. I placed two 8x8x16 stacked blocks under one of the handles to elevate the back just enough that mixed material hits the "indentions" inside the tub more optimally - versus the material sitting in the back of the tub and not completely mixing.

I purchased this model for transport and pour reasons and it does both effortlessly. The height of the unit allows for pouring into one of those three gallon size buckets - you can pour into a standard five gallon but the drum will not completely empty. In terms of transport, it does fit through a standard doorway and depending on your application that could be significant. One design note would be the tires; they are inflatable and although I have not had any issues, I would prefer those solid, run-flat, types available on wheel barrels now.

Thus far it has performed very well; I have mixed more than 100 bags of 80 pound mortar, concrete, and stucco. I am working alone so I cut the bags in half and mix 40 pounds at a time; however, it has no problem mixing a full 80 pound bag. When mixing an 80 pound bag the shaft will bind if left running for extended periods of constant mixing. This is due to heat expansion and I do not grease it "before each use" as the instructions indicate; if I followed the directions I suspect this wouldn't be an issue - but since I stick to 40 pounds at a time the parts work well with occasional greasing. Regardless, the mixer performs very well and I am definitely happy I went with a model in this price range - this thing can take a beating. Even better, it qualified for Prime Shipping when I ordered so that saved me at least $50 - I base that on my research at the time of purchase.
