This is a sturdy, attractive lamp. The shipping was not fast. I had to ask for an update on the status of the transaction after I hadn't heard anything for over a week after I ordered it. When it arrived it was a cinch to assemble, only taking me 3 or 4 minutes. The description tells which type of bulbs the lamp uses and distinctly says "not included." Interestingly, my package included two compact fluorescent bulbs, but one of them was smashed to smithereens. Because of the hazard of mercury in CFLs, this is one freebie I would rather not have gotten. The switches on the pole are easy to operate. A three-way switch for the upper lamp would have been nice. The glass shades are pretty. The base on my lamp was scratched a bit, but I'm not worried about it. Here's a summary:

Pros: heavy, sturdy, easy to put together, product is as pictured.

Cons: shipping took longer than I would have thought, even taking into account freight; one of the two included light bulbs was broken; I would have liked a 3-way switch for the upper socket.

Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase.
