Zeroplus LAP-C 16128 Logic Analyzer Logic Cube Review
I've tried several of the off-brand USB logic analyzers and they are mostly junk. I had almost given up and gone back to the old green-screen tek, but the LAP-C is really a breeze to use and very powerful for the price.ZeroPlus has really done a great job with both the hardware and the software. Easy plug (& install) & play setup, and after that - it just works. For a first test, just tap a wire onto the VDD pin on the connector and try capturing rising/falling edges. Once you're convinced it's alive, hook it up to your full circuit and fire away. I also like the physical trigger button because sometimes the last thing you want to do is go grab the mouse while trying to hold a wire onto testpoint x.
But one button alone wouldn't convince me. We threw all sorts of conditions at the LAP and it always got beautiful captures. The software is well constructed with almost too many options - RTM for sure here - and the protocol analyzers are exceptional. The downside is that each protocol is sold seperately, sometimes for more than the cost of the device!
But if your use does not require exotic protocols, this device will provide plenty of features and deep enough memory (and triggering options) to capture quite a bit of data in a very reliable manner. If you're in the market for a low-cost logic analyzer, I recommend the LAP-C.
